Drifting Sands, Drifting Souls
Magic. The word itself can imply so many things. From the solitary witch, practicing in the hinterlands to the druid circle centered around a glade, all the way into the cosmopolitan cities that have colleges of magic, teaching able wizards to utilize their gift, magic is often seen as double-edged sword. While magic can be used for good, as in the case of most clergy and state-sanctioned wizards, magical aptitude is often used to further one’s goals. Ancient superstitions among humans declare arcane magic to be the province of the elves and their kin, while practicing certain forms of divine magic may get the cleric killed for heresy.
In ancient eras, arcane magic was brought to the world by elves, whereas humans and dwarves brought the will of the gods into the world through the use of divine prayer.
